News is that Apple has already out in the order for the iPad 3 and that it has already been on the production line! As many as 1 million iPad 3 units will be manufactured in the last quarter of the year alone. iPad 3 is set to launch in 2012 and now another report says that a new smaller version of the iPad called iPad Mini will also be released at the same time.

The iPad Mini is set to compete against the Kindle Fire and also the Kindle itself. It is also said to be priced similar to the Kindle with a price tag of around $200. The higher-end version of the iPad, which will be the direct successor to the iPad 2, will launch in the second quarter of the year. There were rumors that a souped up version of iPad 2 called the iPad2 Plus might be out but nothing has been confirmed.

iPad 3 is rumored to hold 3D capabilities like 3D recording and playback. Jeffrey Fidacaro, an analyst of the Susquehanna Financial Group said, “Our checks indicate that iPad 3 has now shown up on AAPL’s production forecast for a late-4Q production start, we believe 0.6 mln-1 mln units are forecasted for 4Q production.” There is also speculation that the iPad3 and the iPhone5 will support the A6 processor which is rumored to be a quad core powerhouse.
