Did you realize its been 30 years since Pac-Man was launched only to become one of the best games ever to be made. Google is marking the 30 years of Pac-Man with its one-of-a-kind Google Doodle where you can actually play the game itself!

Just visit Google and after a few seconds you will actually be able to play the game itself. Just hit the “Insert Coin” button which has replaced the “I’am feeling lucky” to play the game.

Pac-Man was developed by Namco and was released on 22nd May 1980 in Japan. It went on to become one of the most famous games ever in the history of gaming.

CNet reported that Google built the Pac-Man clone with JavaScript, HTML and CSS – the same tools that Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs cited as suitable to replace Flash. Whats more the game also runs on iPhone and the iPad. Google did prove a point that Flash might not be needed to make some of the coolest stuff on the internet.

Google’s main aim was to make sure the doodle reached and was handled by almost all the browsers.

Ironic that Google got a game going on iPhone and the iPad without Apple’s approval!
