Good news for sky divers and action sport lovers. a new sports action camera is round the block, the Drift HD170. Made by Drift Innovation, the new sport action camera can record 1080p videos and has a 170-degree wide-angle lens. The lens can also rotate across a 300-degree range and comes with a side-mounted LCD screen that lets you frame your shot with the camera. All this packed into this device makes it really really good!
There is also a night-shooting mode with a remote control for starting and stopping the video functionality. The camera supports continuous photo mode where a shot can be taken every few second until the disk runs out. The HD170 also comes with an internal microphone and an external microphone is also offered. The camera is built to be water resistant for up to two feet.
The camera can shoot crisp pictures with its 5-megapixel lens but there is just 32MB of built-in memory which is not much but can be supplemented with external memory. The camera supports SDHC cards of up to 32 GB.
The HD170 camera ships late in July and is priced at $330. It seems pretty pricey considering that you will have to spend some more bucks to shop for a SDHC card, but a 1080p with a 170-degree angle makes it look just about right!
