w100-librettoToshiba’s Libretto has a long history, a pretty small laptop for its time and was one of the most mobile devices back then. To celebrate its 25th aniversary Toshiba has the libretto back and with a bang. This time its a laptop/tablet styled device with dual 7 inch displays, yes attached dual displays!

Toshiba Libretto is similar to the Microsoft Courier which has been discontinued by Microsoft. Libretto runs on Windows 7 and has way too many features than the Microsoft Courier. It sports an Intel ULV processor and an expensive starting price of $1100.

The specs for Libretto are simly awesome. The Libretto is powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Pentium U5400 ULV and runs Windows 7 home premium. The two 7 inch screens support multitouch and are 1024×600 pixels. It has a 6-mode virtual keyboard with haptic touch for faster typing.

It comes with 64 GB of SSD disk space and a 2 GB DDR3 RAM for faster data processing and response. It is all 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 compatible, has 1 USB 2.0 port and a MicroSD card slot and also has a 1MP camera.  Its batteries last up to 4 hours and the whole thing weights around 1.8 pounds.

The Toshibha Liberto W100 is expected to go on sale sometime in the next few months and is set to cost around $1100.

It will be hard to predict its success, though smaller than the iPad and has two displays, it costs almost twice than the iPad. Lets see how the market reacts.
