body-scannersTechnology has been in the forefront at airline security and the new body image scanners are the latest in these field. However looks like reckless administration processess are here to stay. The Transport and Security Administration (TSA) had claimed all along that the body imagers were unable to store, export or print images of passengers.

However this week the U.S. Marshals Service admitted that it had accidently saved tens of thousands of images recorded on a machine used at a security checkpoint in a Florida courthouse. The US Marshals service admitted to have saved approximately 35,000 images and also has said that the machine used in the courthouse has been sent back to the manufacturer who now possess those images.

In a statement released by William Bordley who works as an associate general counsel with the Marshals Service, confirmed that about 35,314 images were stored on the Brijot Gen2 machine which was used in Orlando, Florida federal courthouse. The machine was also tested in the Washington, D.C. federal courthouse and was sent back to the manufacturer.

How can the machine be tweaked after it was certified by the TSA that it cannot record any images? Experts say that the machines have external system consoles which can be reprogrammed to do just about anything. The machines are so powerful that they could be hooked up to a wireless internet connection and every image can be recorded at a remote database with in a few seconds.

Well next time I walk though these machines I should carry a jammer that could jam its radio! The following are the airports that are using the machines. So if you are about to go through them, be ready to bare it all!

The lesson to learn is never trust the feds or anyone with technology. Its too easy to manipulate, especially in this day and age.
