Samsung is getting ready to demo to a large gathering at Createc in Tokyo its WiMax 2 trail system which is the newer version of the WiMax being offered. The new WiMax 2 is based on the IEEE 802.16m and can offer speeds of up to 330Mbps. The new WiMax 2 if successful can let users watch full-HD 3D videos over the air and also 16 Full-HD videos on 4 TVs at the same time!
Samsung partnered with UQ Communications will demo all the HD streams as part of the trail. The new WiMax 2 is based on the IEEE 802.16m standard which will offer faster, efficient and more converged data communications. The system also offers easy migration from WiMax to WiMax 2. Samsung says that the standard will be set by November this year and it plans to introduce the first commercial WiMax 2 by the end of 2011.
