Sony showed up at the CES 2011 with some of its coolest gadgets. Sony showed its Handycam line of camcorders at the CES2011 and a couple of models stood out! Sony introduced the HDR-TD10E which it says is the world’s first “Double Full HD” 3D camcorder for the consumer market. Sony also introduced another camcorder series called the HDR-PJ series which boasts of a built in projector.
The HDR-TD10E’s has an integrated dual lens system that includes two Sony G lenses, two “Exmor R” CMOS sensors and two “BIONZ” image processors. It also can play full HD 3D videos on any 3D capable HDTV. It comes with dual recording system that gives the HDR-TD10E ability to playback 3D content in Full HD 2D automatically on non-3D displays. The camcorder also allows playback of 3D footage on its 3.5-inch 3D LCD touch screen.
The TD10E also includes a 10x optical zoon with Optical SteadyShot and iAuto which configures the camera’s settings based on its surroundings. There is also a tracking focus feature that maintains focus on moving subjects and the camcorder comes with a nice 64GB of flash memory.
Sony’s other camcorder series called the HDR-PJ series is particularly interesting. It features a built in projector! Sony says that these camcorders can project video of up to 60-inch diagonally from a distance of 20 feet. The HDR-PJ series camcorders also come with integrated stereo speakers with an S-Master digital amplifier.
It is available in three models which vary in memory and capacity. The HDR-PJ50VE with a 220 GB HDD will be available in April 2011, while the HDR-PJ30VE with 32 GB of flash memory, and HDR-PJ10E with 16 GB of flash memory will be available in March 2011.
Sony will release the HDR-TD10E in April 2011 at a price yet to be announced.
