Everyone is well aware of the Google web-based translation site – Google Translate. The site has been up for several years now and their translation engine is getting better and better. Today Google took it up a notch by releasing its translate app for the iPhone which comes with many more interesting features. The new app features a “speak to translate” feature.

The app lets you input a word or a phrase by either typing into the phone or by speaking. The new iPhone app accepts voice input from 15 languages, and just like the existing web app, lets you translate that phrase into one of more than 50 languages. You can listen in to your translations in more than 23 different languages. The app uses a speech synthesizer that was introduced in 2010.
