Is Google for technical innovation or simply blind competition. If I can’t have it, no one can – attitude is what Google is always been into making it a devil! Google’s chairman Eric Schmidt is reportedly admitted about talking to the US senate antitrust committee about Siri, Apple’s new personal assistant technology saying that it is a significant development but poses a threat to his company’s core business.
In a letter, Schmidt said, “Even in the few weeks since the hearing, Apple has launched an entirely new approach to search technology with Siri, its voice-activated search and task-completion service built into the iPhone 4S”. He also called Siri, a “Google Killer” and Apple’s “entry point” into the search engine business. Schmidt called Siri a competitive threat and said that Google is willing to file a anti-trust lawsuit complaining about Siri and its anti competitive practices. Google wants to have users be able to choose between Siri and Google own voice search engine. Apple clearly will never allow this and this might heat up the battle.
Google is looking for ways to claim a monopoly of Apple over the search engine business which can cause it to be blocked but the fact is that Google has a 65 percent market share of all U.S. Internet searches, 94 percent share of the European market, and 97 percent share of all smartphone searches which gives it a monopoly status!
What Google should do is get their smart phone out and make it as good as Apple’s and have its own version of Siri rather than crying foul like an immature, incompetent kid.
