Apple today in a press release said that it had sold 3 million iPads since the launch of the product less than three months ago. Thats quite a milestone for Apple which also claims that the demand is only rising for the iPad.

Apple did not provide any break down on month to month sales trend but previously had said that it had sold 1 million iPads in the first month after the launch on April 3rd. May 31st was when Apple had sold almost 2 million of these tablets. It hit the 3 million mark on June 21st.

International sales were a big boost for Apple with sales in Autralia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan were some of the countries where iPad had big sales comparable to the US.

Apple had initially speculated that it will sell 10 million iPads in 2010 alone. Many analysts thought this number was overrated but the present figures seem that this could be a possibility. None of the other competitors in the market reported similar sales for their tablets.
