We all know Apple is the most secretive company and safeguards its data like no other. Apple currently is building a large data center in North Carolina. But today rumors were flying around over the internet that the new datacenter being build and modified was for the development and testing of the new iOS software.
Some speculation is that the new data center will be hosting and developing new services such as the iAds. With the steady growth of the iOS devices which will be about 200 million by the end of 2011 Apple will certainly need a new data center to handle all the traffic.Apple might also use the new data center with its MobileMe service which is rumored to become a free service in the upcoming months.
Apple is also planning a video-streaming service similar to the iTunes music service. Apple might use the new data center to support infrastructure and compete head to head against Netflix.
I personally managed a Data Center for 15 years and worked with various software programs. I’d have to say that personally Nlyte was the easiest to work with. You can compare the specs yourself DCIM . I am sure there are plenty of options but I’d say they are the best.
