There is a invite going around from Barnes and Noble which states that there is a “very special event” and is to be held in New York city. There are rumors flying around and what seems most promising is that B&N would announce a new next-generation Nook tablet which has a faster processor, more memory and enhanced display!
It is also said that B&N will also drop the price of its Nook tablets already in the market. B&N is planning the event a week before Kindle Fire starts shipping, so the timing seems right. We know that the Kindle Fire is priced at $199 while the tablet actually costs $220 for Amazon per unit. B&N is expected to announce a similar tablet of its own make but with a slightly higher price tag and might cost in the $250-$299 range.
