Finally! RIM(Research in Motion), the maker of BlackBerry announced today morning in a press release that the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet is officially available for pre-orders starting today and the launch date set to April 19. The WiFi version of the PlayBook will be priced at $499, $599 and $699 for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB respectively.
The announcement was a collaboration between RIM and Best Buy which will be the only retail outlet that will carry the tablet. The PlayBook will also be available in Canada on April 19 in Best Buy and Future Shop stores. PlayBook is all souped up and will run on dual-core processors and has support for 1080p video playback. It also has a 7” screen.
