dell-tablet-newDell is all set to take on RIM with its new 10 inch Windows 7 based tablet that Dell is says is aimed at healthcare, education and at business professionals. Dell’s business client division head, Steve Lalla said that the tablet was in its early development stages and a working prototype is yet to be put out but he did say that the device might be out before the end of this year.

Steve said that the new tablet will also utilize the Intel Oak Trail processor which is part of the Intel’s atom line of processors. Dell is focussing the tablet towards businesses and says that businesses are keep on improving productivity while keeping costs down.

In the mean time Dell is also launching the Latitude XT3 which is a successor to the XT2. The laptop/tablet hybrid uses a swivel screen to alternate between the two modes.
