ioSafe launched a new line of its portable drives during the CES which it claims to be the most rugged in the world. The new line comes in a full metal jacket casing made of aluminum or titanium. The drives are also offered in spinning clusters or as a solid state drive and are crush-proof, shock-proof and chemical-proof and can withstand extreme environmental conditions.
ioSafe also offers a warranty that includes replacement for any reason with no questions asked. ioSafe also is offering free data recovery service. At CES 2011, the company even let members of the press shoot up its drives with guns to prove that they are rugged.
ioSafe is already known for “disaster proof” data storage options and provides both internal and external solid state drives. The new 2.5″ hard disk drives come with an aluminum enclosure with your choice of 250GB 5400RPM, 500GB 5400RPM, 750GB 7200RPM, and 1TB 5400RPM mechanisms.
You may also choose between USB 3.0 or FireWire 800 interfaces. Prices range from $149 for 250GB to $399 for 1TB.
