Apple is having success again and again and this time Piper Jaffray has claimed that the iPad 2 buyers were new customers who never had an iPad and bought out the iPad2 completely.

Piper Jaffray conducted a survey and found that 70 percent of buyers of the iPad 2 were new customers. This is a huge boost over the iPhone 4 which only 23 percent of new customers bought. Apple had better luck with Mac over iPhone 4 with about 51 percent of new users buying Mac.

More research indicated that about 65 percent of iPad 2 buyers had iPhones while 24 percent had Kindles. There is an estimated 400,000 to 500,000 iPad 2s have been sold which is a big boost over the 300,000 sold originally for the iPad.
