Bloomberg today reported that it has had a chance to look at Steve Jobs’s death certificate which shows that he died at home in Palo Alto, California and the cause of death was noted to be respiratory arrest caused by a pancreatic tumor at about 3 p.m. on Oct. 5. On the certificate his occupation was listed as “entrepreneur” in the “high tech” business.

The Santa Clara County Public Health Department in San Jose, California, issued the document yesterday which listed the cause as respiratory arrest which caused immediate death and “metastatic pancreas neuroendocrine tumor” as the underlying cause. There was no autopsy performed. Apple refrained from providing any official details and circumstances of Steve Job’s death.

It was also reported that Steve Jobs was buried at a non-denominational cemetery in Santa Clara County on Oct. 7. The name of the person who filled out the certificate was blacked out. It is also interesting to note that Apple informed the police department a few days before Steve Job’s death that he was expected to die. The police department was made aware in order to have patrols ready in case large number of mourners gather at Steve Job’s home.

In addition to this Apple is planning an event on Oct. 19 to honor Jobs for employees, Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said yesterday in an e-mail to employees.
